Infant Baptism

The Rite of Baptism is filled with spiritual significance, beauty, and grace. Baptism isn’t something that happens on the outside alone, but changes us on the inside.

Infant Baptism is for children 0 to 7 years old, if your child is over the age of 7 please contact Julie Martinez at julie@sthelenchurch.org or (281)485-5457

Baptism Requirements

For Parents:

1. At least (1) one parent must be a practicing Catholic.
2. Parents must be registered members of St. Helen.
3. If parents are not registered at St. Helen, they will need a letter of permission from their pastor to baptize their child outside of their home parish.
4. Both parents must attend a baptism preparation class at St. Helen or at any Catholic Church within the last three years.  You will need to provide proof of completion if taken at another Catholic Church.

Godparents:

1. Only (1) godparent is required.
2. If there are two godparents, it must be a biological (1) male and (1) female.
3. Must be practicing Catholics and must have received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation)
4. If godparents are married, they must be married in the Catholic Church or in a marriage recognized by the Catholic Church
5. Godparents need to attend a baptism class.

Baptism Schedule: 

We have English baptisms every 3^rd Saturday of the month and Spanish every 4^th Saturday at 10am.

Current schedule:

To schedule the baptism, you need to fill out a baptism application HERE .  Email it to laura@sthelenchurch.org with a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of class completion if class was not taken at St. Helen.  If class was taken at St. Helen proof is not needed.

English baptism class is held every 1^st Monday of the month from 7:15pm-9:30pm.

There is no fee for registered parishioners of St. Helen.  There is a $25 fee for non-parishioners for materials
